When Doctor Who went off the air in 1989, a void was created in the world of Whovians everywhere. Luckily, Virgin Books obtained the rights to Doctor Who and began a series of books in 1991. These novels continued where the TV show left off but in an edgier and more provocative way, creating stories that broke the mould of typical Doctor Who stories. These novels continued until 1997 when Virgin lost the right to Doctor Who, but the novels continued with no Doctor, the main character being one of the Doctor's companions, Professor Bernice Summerfield. This list is given in publication order and should be read in the order they are listed.
