The Valeyard
The Valeyard was supposedly the amalgamation of the darker side of the Doctor’s nature taken from somewhere between his twelfth and final incarnations. He sought to take the Sixth Doctor’s remaining regenerations for himself.
Origin
The Valeyard’s origins were a mystery to the Doctor and the Time Lords as well. He told a story of his past once but no one is sure if it was true or just a deception.
The Valeyard claimed that he was created during a period with the thirteenth incarnation of the Doctor was experimenting with ways to break the twelve-regeneration limit. He was apparently created as a Time Tot on a planet orbiting Etarho. When the scavengers on the planet learned who he was, they sent him to Gallifrey.
When the Time Lord’s examined the Valeyard’s biodata, they found that it was an exact match for the Doctor’s. They sent him to a Shadow House where he was encouraged by another Time Lord there to study regeneration.
Personality
The Valeyard was cunning and verbal with a knack for manipulation. Due to his temper, he was prone to outbursts, but generally remained calm and collected. His actions were constantly defined by his egotism.
He seemed to possess memories of the incarnations of the Doctor that fell before him.
Physical Appearance
The Valeyard appeared as a middle-aged man with light grey eyes and short black hair. When he was in court, he wore long black robes with a stiff black collar edged in white, and a black skullcap. Later, when he temporarily became the Keeper of the Matrix, he wore the same outfit but only orange.
