5th Doctor : Peter Davison

He, up to this point suffered more then the previous four Doctors and had to use the Tardis' Zero room to recover. He was a manic, nervous energy, peace seeking pacifist. Cause of Doctor's Regeneration: Spectrox Poisoning.
The Doctor and Peri travel to the Planet Androzani Minor and find that they are stuck in the middle of a war between Morgus and his company vs Sharaz Jek and Rebel Androids. The Doctor and Peri soon find out that Sharaz Jek use to work for Morgus and that Morgus arranged for Sharaz Jek to be killed; however, Sharaz Jek, though badly damaged, survived his "accident". He sore vengeance against Morgus and would see him lose his mine that was filled with raw Spectrox. Being in the caves/mines too long, both the Doctor and Peri absorbed too much Spectrox poisoning and both were about to die. Luckily, the Doctor was able to get an antidote that consisted of bat milk from a queen bat that lived in the cave itself, from Sharaz Jek. Sadly, there was only enough antidote for one and so the Doctor bravely gave it to Peri. With not enough time or strength to go find more, the 5th doctor, like his previous 4 incarnations, collapsed and regenerated.

Peter Davison was born in 1951 and he is still alive. Despite only being in his twenties, Peter Davison was an already established actor and was well known to television. When first casted to play the role as the Doctor, he wasn't too sure if he should and if he did, for how long. Since his departure from his role as the Doctor, Peter Davison has since been in several more roles on television in several different shows and TV movies. In 2007, Davison returned to play the role as the Doctor in a short with his real life son-in-law, David Tennant, who plays the 10th Doctor on Doctor Who.
