The 8th Doctor's Life, Companions, and Travels
The 8th Doctor came to be when his, soon to be companion, Grace Holloway tried to operate on the 7th Doctor after he shot up by a gang in San Francisco. After he regenerated into the 8th, the Doctor had a fight for his life and his remaining regenerations when the Master went to War with him. The Doctor wins in the end thanks to his two companions and the Tardis, who absorbed the Master's energy.

The Man, The Myth, The Legend
Paul McGann played the 8th Doctor in the Doctor Who movie and was born in 1959. Born in Liverpool, he and his three brothers grew up to all be actors. He won the role and beat several other actors who tried to get the role of the Doctor. Before playing his famous role as the Doctor in the movie, he was already famous in tons of people's eyes because of his role in the film Withnail and I. Since his time as the Doctor in the movie, He has also done a lot of more roles in both TV and in movies, Luther being one example and Jonathan Creek as another. Paul McGann and Sylvester McCoy are the only two Doctors to ever be in a movie.
