Autons
Autons were android robots that resembled life sized plastic dummies but were animated by the Nestene Consciousness.
Appearance and Abilities
Autons were animated by a fragment of the Nestene which gave them motion but no control themselves. The bigger the piece of Nestene inside, the more autonomy the Auton had. The fragments, in larger sizes, also allowed for the copying of brain patterns and memories.
Most Autons resembled store mannequins and were mute. They could, however, change the shape of their features and limbs. Autons also concealed deadly weapons within their hands which could kill or vaporise their victims.
Sophisticated Autons could also be created that looked and acted human except for their skin having a shiny appearance and their voice very flat sounding.
The Nestenes could also create more accurate Autons which were identical in appearance and actions to their models. These Autons were given falso memories and many actually believe themselves to really be the person they duplicated.
Autons were long lived and could live for thousands of years. They were, however, vulnerable to intense heat which caused them to melt. Radio waves could also destroy them.
