4th Doctor : Tom Baker
The 4th Doctor's Life, Companions, and Travels
The Fourth Doctor was by far the most alien to us out of the first four doctors. Some argue that he still holds that title today out of all the Doctors. He was both cunning and goofy, light-hearted and lonely, righteous and dark. He wore one of his trade marks and ate the other. This doctor is so famous, you don't even need a picture of him next to his trade marks to know what the picture is talking about.
His Trade Marks
The 4th Doctor had two, one he wore and one he ate :
1. Huge Wide-brimmed Brown Hat and Multi-Colored Scarf.
2. "Jelly Bellies" with the catch phrase, "Would you like a Jelly Baby?"
His dress / appearance was not by mistake, as it was part of his cunning. Looking goofy, it made his enemies misjudge him, and because he looked goofy and child like it made others trust him more too. He wanted his enemies and others to think of him as crazy, dim, and not intelligent, however, with his mind sharp as ever and his quick thinking and wit, he was nothing to take lightly, as many of his enemies and friends would soon found out. As far as his knowledge and know-how, this Doctor was unchallenged by all the rest.
He loved a good laugh and to keep random things in his Gallifrey-built pocketed coat (Pockets bigger on the inside). He loved a good laugh/joke and light hearted companions, because on the inside he was in constant debate with himself on how to react to certain things and events. For example, at one point, the 4th Doctor had the opportunity to completely wipe out the entire Dalek species from their creation, but battled the dark battle within himself, of if he actually had the right to wipe out an entire species and commit genocide. Then there is the time, he had to stop and challenge and defeat all of Gallifrey from invading/attacking and wiping out the species Sontarans.
The 4th Doctor always tried to do what he thought best though and always loved a challenge. He loved a challenge so much, he took on a mission to find and reassemble the "Key to Time" to bring harmony back to the universe.
