Jo Grant
Jo Grant Companionship and Life
Jo Grant was one of the 3rd Doctor's companions. She traveled with the Doctor from episode Terror of the Autons to episode The Green Death. Jo Grant's full name was Josephine Grant. Jo Grant worked for U.N.I.T. before traveling with the Doctor and England was her home. When asked how she got her job in UNIT because of how clumsy she was, Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart called it "Friends in High Places", but Jo just called those "friends" her Uncle. Jo Grant's uncle worked in the United Nations and thanks to her uncle pulling some strings, she was able to get a job in UNIT, despite her apparent clumsiness and being able to put her foot in her mouth.
The 3rd Doctor did not like the idea of having Jo Grant as a companion at first because of her extreme clumsiness and how she mistakenly/accidentally messed up/ ruined one of his experiments. However, later on, she and the Doctor became good friends and great traveling partners. Jo Grant also got to be the Companion of the Doctor again when the 11th Doctor, & Sarah Jane caught up to talk about past times and companions.
Jo Grant stopped travelling with the 3rd Doctor when she met a young scientist named Cliff (Clifford) Jones. Cliff Jones wanted to end world hunger and Jo Grant wanted to help him. She said that this scientist reminded her of the Doctor, just much younger. She ends up bearing 7 children to Cliff after their marriage.
