Susan Foreman
Susan Companion and Life
Susan Foreman was the Doctor's very first companion. Susan travelled with the 1st Doctor. Susan traveled with the Doctor from the Doctor Who episodes An Unearthly Child to The Dalek Invasion of Earth. But it is also said and believed that Susan had many adventures with the Doctor before the first episode on TV. Susan was also something more then just a companion of the Doctor's; she was also his granddaughter. She like the Doctor, is from the planet called Gallifrey. Also like the Doctor, Susan is a Gallifreyan, but unlike the Doctor, Susan is not a Time Lord. (To learn the difference between Time Lords and Gallifreyans please see page titled : A Brief Summary of Gallifrey, Gallifreyans, Time Lords and The Time Academy)
While on an adventure with the Doctor, they encountered a very timid race of beings called Sensorites. It was then that she learned that she had the power of telepathy and she would speak to and for the creatures.
Susan got her surname from the gates of the junkyard where the Tardis was parked while she and Doctor was on earth. The Gates read "I. M. Foreman". Susan was very curious about earth, its history, and its cultures. She finally convinced her grandfather to even let her attend one of earth's schools to learn more. Even though she attended Coal Hill School and looked like a teenager, her vast knowledge of everything gave her away. It is theorized that thanks to Susan, the Doctor found interest in Earth and its people, because at first, the Doctor cared not for earth or its people.
She left the doctor after falling in love with a man she met named David Campbell, while traveling with the Doctor on one of his adventures. Not wanting to leave the Doctor, her grandfather locked the Tardis doors so that she could begin her life with her husband. Currently she has one son named Alex, who she introduced to the 8th form of the Doctor.
